Description | Medical-grade PMMA intracorneal ring, designed for implantation in the corneal stroma in corneal transplant surgeries. |
Specifications | • 360° circular closed ring • Made from one single piece in PMMA • Facilitates the integration of the transplanted cornea • Easy to adapt and remove • Does not require an injector |
Indications | Medical device for ophthalmologic use for implantation into the corneal stroma when a transplant of a penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) or deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) is needed to stabilize the transplanted cornea and to make the healing process more consistent. In general, use of the Neoring ring enables: • To improve postoperative astigmatism • To reduce the effects of corneal neovascularization • To reduce adverse immune reactions • To provide rigidity and stability to the transplanted cornea • To accelerate the integration and healing process One of the most important indications is DALK in Keratoconus. In these cases the integration of the donated cornea into the recipient cornea is facilitated by making the stromal bed thicker. |
