AJL Ophthalmic collaborates with the NGO Visió Sense Fronteres in Burkina Faso

AJL Ophthalmic has recently collaborated with the NGO Visió Sense Fronteres, in a visual healthcare mission in Africa by sending intraocular lenses and viscoelastic solutions for cataract surgeries.

The volunteer medical team that has participated in this project has operated on 219 patients from Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso’s second most populous city in Africa. Among the ophthalmologists who have collaborated are the following: Dr. Jaime Javaloy of the Baviera Clinic (Alicante), Dr. Margarita Cabanás of the Clinic of Bavaria (Seville), Dr. Tomás Moya of the Clinic Bavaria in Valencia, as well as Opticians, optometrists, nurses and specialized auxiliary personnel, among them: Mª José Muñoz, Isabel Signes, Raúl Montalbán, Dora Fornés and Ivana de la Torre.

Visió Sense Fronteres is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1998, whose main purpose is to prevent avoidable blindness among people without resources through health and visual missions.
